Authoring and HCEP

Computation Refactoring

  • Updated computations architecture to apply more consistent processing and data type handling rules across all functions:

    • With some exceptions, functions and operators no longer accept a mixture of group and scalar inputs.

    • With some exceptions, functions and operators no longer accept generic arrays.

    • Upon updating to this new version, some functions that violate the new rules may encounter migration errors, and will require manual intervention.

  • Added year granularity to dateTruncate so that data scientists may have more flexibility with dates.

  • Added unit modifier to pick between kilometers and miles for distance function output.

  • replaceAll and replaceFirst now have a regex modifier to select between regex or simple text replacement methods.

  • Users may now enforce unique values in the left column of the valueConverter function for improved data management.

  • The weightedRisk function now supports array mapping and aggregations for more powerful analytic generation.

Modeling Experience Enhancements

  • Error icons are displayed over patterns and deployments that contain errors, making it easier for users to identify potential bugs.

  • Enabled partitioning and constraints over JSONs and JSON arrays for more dynamic modeling and partitioning.

  • The Issues Log in deployments now dynamically displays an issues icon only when there are issues detected, and includes the issue count in display.

  • Deleting outcomes from patterns now automatically deletes computations upon confirmation.

  • Updated JDBC default lookup limit from 0 (which means no limit) to 100, to prevent unintentionally crashing deployments.

  • Users are no longer able to delete patterns that are referenced in deployments to prevent unintentional deletions.

  • Improved some error messages to contain suggested actions to resolve errors.

Lexicons

  • Upgraded the lexicon with an expanded dictionary, increasing the supported word count from ~4k to ~400k. This improves coverage when using the ~ operator to detect conjugations and plural forms.

  • Lexicon nodes and keywords are now sorted in alphanumerical order for improved legibility.

  • Lexicon confirmation dialogues now reference lexicon names so that users may confirm changes before committing.

Workstation

Drilldown

  • Added a new settings panel, allowing analysts to control how key provenance information is displayed.

  • By default, solution nodes are hidden to simplify the drilldown tree. Solutions can be re-enabled through the Drilldown settings panel.

Map Tab on Events

The Map tab on an event has been expanded to better display events that possess multiple geo point and polygon fields with the ability to selectively toggle specific fields on or off.

Event Exports

  • Users can now create Advanced DOC Report Templates for events.

  • Events can now be exported using DOC templates, letting analysts export events as .DOCX files with specific control over which fields are exported.

Collection Exports

Related collections can now be referenced on a collection's DOC export so that readers of the DOC export can be made aware of other collections related to an investigation.

JSON Support

  • Workstation now supports events with JSON object and JSON array data fields. These can be seen when viewing an event on a details viewer with and without an event detail template.

  • Events that are linked to a collection that is exported to DOC and PDF outputs can also include JSON data fields.

User Experience

  • Analysts may share links to specific tabs on events and collections, which simplifies sharing key information among teammates.

  • The Status and Tags configuration pages have been redesigned for improved administrator legibility and organization.

  • The Report Templates page has been redesigned for improved clarity.

  • A banner now appears on the Event Detail Viewer when an event is updated or deleted so that analysts are kept up to date on new information, and can decide if they wish to load the new information.

  • Allowed file types are now shown on attachments to help guide analysts on acceptable file types.

  • The static map images under Event Details have been improved to show colors for the plotted data for better visibility.

Data Management Tool

JSON datatypes are now supported in S3 connectors, making it easier for data scientists to ingest JSON source data into models.
